I am Finally Done With Health Class!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been taking a summer school class this June and July. Well I have been taking health which is required for all freshman and I have been taking it now instead of during the school year. And I have been told we have to do so much less work then they do during hte school year. Now I have a half credit before I start even High School. Yeah. I even took my first ever final exam not that it was fun but it's still cool.

Now I have more time to read.

One problem. I am going on vacation and the week after that Swim Team starts. They have to practices a day.I think like 9-11 and 3-5:30 or something like that. And I will even less time to read.

My summer is going by so fast.

Leaving On Vacation

I will be leaving tomorrow to go vacation to Niagra Falls. We will be going through a whole bunch states not really. I think we are going states like New York,Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan I can't think of any others. I am most likely not going to have any posts since I don't know how to schedule them.(will someone please tell me how). Well wish me luck during our our very car ride. But I will be bringing a lot of books.

Question: Does anyone else always bring way to many books to read with you vacation? And you actually read a few but you bring a lot.

Waiting On Wednesday (4)

I have decided to do three books this week one that is already released (released a week ago) and two that are coming up...........and they are Coffee House Angel and The Hollow and One A Witch.

The Hollow By Jessica Verday
Comes Out September 1,2009
When Abbey's best friend, Kristen, vanishes at the bridge near Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, everyone else is all too quick to accept that Kristen is dead?and rumors fly that her death was no accident. Abbey goes through the motions of mourning her best friend, but privately, she refuses to believe that Kristen is really gone. Then she meets Caspian, the gorgeous and mysterious boy who shows up out of nowhere at Kristen's funeral, and keeps reappearing in Abbey's life. Caspian clearly has secrets of his own, but he's the only person who makes Abbey feel normal again...but also special.
Just when Abbey starts to feel that she might survive all this, she learns a secret that makes her question everything she thought she knew about her best friend. How could Kristen have kept silent about so much? And could this secret have led to her death? As Abbey struggles to understand Kristen's betrayal, she uncovers a frightening truth that nearly unravels her—one that will challenge her emerging love for Caspian, as well as her own sanity.

I love the idea of this book. I can't wait to read it and really wish I had a copy.

Once A Witch by Carolyn MacCullough
Comes Out Sepember 14 ,2009

Tamsin Greene comes from a long line of witches, and she was supposed to be one of the most Talented among them. But Tamsin's magic never showed up. Now seventeen, Tamsin attends boarding school in Manhattan, far from her family. But when a handsome young professor mistakes her for her very Talented sister, Tamsin agrees to find a lost family heirloom for him. The search—and the stranger—will prove to be more sinister than they first appeared, ultimately sending Tamsin on a treasure hunt through time that will unlock the secret of her true identity, unearth the sins of her family, and unleash a power so vengeful that it could destroy them all. This is a spellbinding display of storytelling that will exhilarate, enthrall, and thoroughly enchant.

This looks really good. And I love these types of books. I like the cover too. I wish I had a copy.

Coffee House Angel by Suzanne Selfors

Came Out July 21
When Katrina spots a homeless guy sleeping in the alley behind her grandmother’s coffee shop, she decides to leave him a cup of coffee, a bag of chocolate-covered coffee beans, and some pastries to tide him over. Little does she know that this random act of kindness is about to turn her life upside down. Because this adorable vagrant, Malcolm, is really a guardian angel on a break between missions. And he won’t leave until he can reward Katrina’s selflessness by fulfilling her deepest desire. Now if only she could decide what that might be . . .

This is another one of those books where this is the type of books I love and I love the cover it is just super cute.
I wish I had a copy.

All of these books I really want a copy of. They all look great and can't want to read to them.

I got a new bookshelf

When my grandma was at my house last month she brought me a bookshelf that used to belong to the library she works out. It was this really weird dark purple color. So finally last weekend me and my dad painted it a very light blue since it's not going in my room but a hallway and under a window it had to be light and neutral color. And today I finally made time to put put all the loose books on my floor and my immediate to read pile on it. And it almost full already. It's not the biggest bookshelf just 3 shelves if you include the bottom. But I am excited to get a new one.

Another story about bookshelves. So last year my dad made each me and my brother a bookshelf however we wanted it and would at least fit our rooms. I chose a 5 shelf one and is wide but not deep. I basically have that full well 3.5 shelves it. I have one shelf where I keep things like jewelry and other nick knacks. I am just shocked that I have like almost two full bookshelves which is little compared to some blogers but is a lot to me.

Library Loot (3)

This week I got I think 5 books.

Hancock Park by Isabel Kaplan

Keeping The Moon by Sarah Dessen

Fashionistas by Chloe Walsh

Truth or Fashion by Chloe Walsh

I read both book by Chloe Walsh but I wanted to reread them I don't know why. I read Truth or Fashion this year and wrote a review in January. In My Mailbox (11)

Another slow week with one book that I won froma contest. Thank Book and Literature for Teens for holdong the contest.

Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson

Scarlett Martin has grown up in a most unusual way. Her family owns the Hopewell, a small hotel in the heart of New York City. Her nineteen-year-old brother, Spencer, is an out of work actor facing a family deadline to get his career in order. Eighteen-year-old Lola has the delicate looks of a model, the practical nature of a nurse, and a wealthy society boyfriend. Eleven-year-old Marlene is the family terror with a tragic past.

When the Martins turn fifteen, they are each expected to take over the care of a suite in the once elegant, now shabby Art Deco hotel. For Scarlett’s fifteenth birthday, she gets both a room called the Empire Suite, and a permanent guest named Mrs. Amberson. Scarlett doesn’t quite know what to make of this C-list starlet, world traveler, and aspiring autobiographer who wants to take over her life. And when she meets Eric, an astonishingly gorgeous actor who has just moved to the city, her summer takes a second unexpected turn.

With Mrs. Amberson calling the shots, Spencer’s career to save, Lola’s love life to navigate around, and Marlene’s prying eyes everywhere, things won’t be easy. Before the summer is over, Scarlett will have to survive a whirlwind of thievery, Broadway glamour, romantic missteps, and theatrical deception.

The show, as they say, must always go on . . . .
Okay I have a very short story about this book. I have checked this out twice before from the library and started once and the other time returned it for some reson. And know it feel weird getting this book because I have strated it nad returned it before.
I guess I'm weird

Summer Intern by Carrie Karsoyov

To do:
Secure models for photo shoot.
Fetch dry cleaning when it arrives from Paris.
Walk big star's makeup artist's assistant's dog.
Snag invitation to tonight's hot party downtown.
I'm Kira Parker, total fashion junkie. I thought I had it made when I landed a summer internship at Skirt, the preeminent fashion magazine. Ha. Don't get me wrong—working at Skirt, and spending the summer in New York City without my parents, is amazing. But now I'm up against Daphne Hughes, daughter of the magazine's owner. She's already got the guy of my dreams and all the right connections. Now she thinks she'll get the plum position working for the editor in chief without even lifting a diamond-adorned pinky? This catwalk is primed for battle.
Review:I really enjoyed Jet Set by these authors so I thought I would try this one. I was really expecting a book full of snotty characters but Kira the main character is super relatable and is not at all snotty like some of the other characters. She was a great main character but one thing that did bother me was how she was always ready to do extra things and really seemed like a goody two shoes to me even though I know she really wanted to Geniveve's intern. The other characters were okay it had your typical gay guy, the hot guy you like but can't go out with, the snotty mean girl who thinks she is the best, and the guy you are dating who you don't really like because there is another guy you like better who you have.
The plot was kinda similar to Jet Set. They both have major twists that you never expect. I loved the plot though. It was kinda typical work at a fashion magazine book but it had things I have never seen in a book like this. So overall it was a okay book not great but not boring.
3.75 out of 5 stars

Animal Encounters

We found a racoon last night out in our yard in broad daylight. That is rare to see. I took pictures but all of them are blurry. We think it was hurt because it's back leg or one them when it was walking looked weird.

Then Wednesday night we saw a little bunny in our yard who was just sitting there. And didn't move when we came close. So then I saw it's neck was injured we thought it was sick. Thursday our neighbor told us there dog bit it and had to stop to the dog from killing it.

We had a weird week with strange animal encounters.

I am not a huge fan of the new layout. And the colors.

And has anyone seen the new tie in covers for the webseries. They I think are worse than the originals.

Which Cover do you like better????

I was searching through Barnesandnoble.com and found the paperback for Living Dead Girl By Elizabeth Scott and I want to know which you like better. The paperback comes out September 8 if you want to know.

Hardcover

Paperback

I like them both. I love the dress and the leaves it leaves this vibe that I you don't know about. And the paperback is so simple and really leaves me wondering what is this about and it seems very mysterious. So I like them both and don't know which ones better.

Which One Do You Like Better??????

I decided to put another set of cover in here. I don't like either one but I want to know what tou think.

Paperback

Hardcover

I really don't like either cover. The paperbook looks weird, like her legs all discombonulated. And the hardcover it just looks plan weird.

Which Do You Like Better????

Cover Crush (2)

I changed the name this week.

This week my choice is................ L.A. Candy By Lauren Conrad

Los Angeles is all about the sweet life: hot clubs, cute guys, designer . . . everything. Nineteen-year-old Jane Roberts can't wait to start living it up. She may be in L.A. for an internship, but Jane plans to play as hard as she works, and has enlisted her BFF Scarlett to join in the fun.
When Jane and Scarlett are approached by a producer who wants them to be on his new series, a "reality version of Sex and the City," they can hardly believe their luck. Their own show? Yes, please!
Soon Jane is TV's hottest star. Fame brings more than she ever imagined possible for a girl from Santa Barbara—free designer clothes, the choicest tables at the most exclusive clubs, invites to Hollywood premieres—and she's lapping up the VIP treatment with her eclectic entourage of new pals. But those same friends who are always up for a wild night are also out for a piece of Jane's spotlight.
In a city filled with people chasing after their dreams, it's not long before Jane wakes up to the reality that everyone wants something from her, and nothing is what it seems to be.

I have never saw the Hills or Laguna Beach but this book sounds a lot like the type of books I love to read. But I love the hearts and the one red one. It just so simple its good. I can't say much about why I love the cover but I do.

In My Mailbox (10)

This was a very slow week. I only got one book. And I won it from a contest Thanks Lauren at Laurens Crammed Bookshelf.

July 17, 2009

This is weird

I was looking at Barnesandnoble.com and I saw that the House Of Night Series was being released in Hardcover. When it was originally released in paperback. I did notice that the one that just came out and the one released in October are hardcover. But the rest of the series that first came out in paperback are now being released in hardcover. That's relly strange. Usually if a book is being released in hardcover it comes out before the paperback not after.

I really loved the series by the way.

Waiting On Wednesday (2)

Harry Potter

I am a very bad Harry Potter Fan!!! I have owned the 5,6,and 7 book since they have come and I have not yet read the 6 and 7 one. I started Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince but I think I got sidetracked and started reading Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants Series. Which I know I got the month the 4 one came out which was the same time I was like half way through the 6 book.
I am now gonna have to read the 6 book before I see the movie but I don't know when I have time since I have so many book right now to read.

Touch By Francine Prose

What really happened at the back of the bus? Did they, or didn't they? Did she, or didn't she? Something happened to fourteen-year-old Maisie Willard—something involving her three friends, all boys. But their stories don't match, and the rumors spin out of control. Then other people get involved . . . the school, the parents, the lawyers. The incident at the back of the bus becomes the center of Maisie's life and the talk of the school, and, horribly, it becomes news. With just a few words and a touch, the kids and their community are changed forever. From nationally acclaimed author Francine Prose comes an unforgettable story about the difficulties of telling the truth, the consequences of lying, and the most dangerous twist of all—the possibility that you yourself will come to believe something that you know isn't true

This book kept me constantly confused. You were always wondering what just happened and everything seemed not in a specific order. Sometimes instead of going foward it went back and explained weird things. I thought Maisie was really whiney. She was always complaing by her stepmom and for the short time at her mom's her stepdad. She was also a really weird main character, like the story was oddly narrated. Oh she was also complaining about her therapy and lawyer she was always constantly naggging about how she doesn't want to go there but when she usually gets there she acts normal and sounds like she wants be there. Her three best friends who are guys sounded wierd and I think its highly unlikely that your three best friends are going to ask to touch your boobs. I know she was gone for a year and she all of a sudden grew boobs but I don't think they will ask to touch your boobs. So I know this sounds like a bad review but the book was okay not the best but not horrible.

In My Mailbox (9)

These are the books this week that I bought. I didn't receive any in the mail.

The Market by J.M. Steele

I had never heard of this before and found it on the new table they had at the store.

This is not the cover I have but my cover was super hard to find and the one I found it was super small and blurry.

High school senior Kate Winthrop is about to find out just how much she's worth.

After stumbling across the Millbank Social Stock Market, Kate is horrified to discover that out of the 140 girls in her class, she's ranked a bleak 71. Sure, she's not drop-dead gorgeous, and her "fashion" choices leave a bit to be desired...but 71?! Determined not to accept her fate as a "junk bond," she and her best friends quickly set out to make her the fastest rising stock on the Market.
Armed with a sexy new haircut and killer wardrobe, Kate puts her plan into effect -- and the analysts take note. In a matter of weeks, her stock value soars, and "Blue Chip" status is within reach. But what begins as a fun social experiment quickly turns into an obsession, one that threatens to ruin her reputation, friendships, and a chance at first love. Will Kate survive the highs and lows of the Market, or will her security crash and burn?

Blue Moon by Alyson Noel

I begged my dad to go to Barnes and Noble on its release day to get this. I am so excited to read this. I loved Evermore and can't wait to find out what happens next.
Just as Ever is learning everything she can about her new abilities as an immortal, initiated into the dark, seductive world by her beloved Damen, something terrible is happening to him. As Ever’s powers are increasing, Damen’s are fading—stricken by a mysterious illness that threatens his memory, his identity, his life. Desperate to save him, Ever travels to the mystical dimension of Summerland, uncovering not only the secrets of Damen’s past—the brutal, tortured history he hoped to keep hidden—but also an ancient text revealing the workings of time. With the approaching blue moon heralding her only window for travel, Ever is forced to decide between turning back the clock and saving her family from the accident that claimed them—or staying in the present and saving Damen, who grows weaker each day...

I am really excited to read both of these. They both look really good.

This week it's Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

Ruby is used to taking care of herself. But now she's living in a fancy new house with her sister Cora—a sister she hasn't seen in ten years—and her husband Jamie—creator of one of the most popular online networking sites. She's attending private school, wearing new clothes, and for the first time, feels the promise of a future that include college and her family. So why is she so wary? And what is Nate— the adorable and good-hearted boy next door— hiding behind his genial nature? As Ruby starts to see, there's a big difference between being given help, and being able to accept it. And sometimes, in order to save yourself, you've got to reach out to someone else.
I recently read this and loved this but i read the hardcover which I didn't really like the cover. But I liked the cover if you took off the dust jacket.
I love the colors on this. And the simplicty of the girl just danging the key. The cover does go really well this book. The one thing I don't like is the way her lags are together they just look really weird.
Do you like this cover?

100 Books Read This Year!!!!

Yes I have read a hundred books this year. I know if you read my list of books I have this year it says 120 but I am just excited to read 100.
At the end of last year I had decided I wanted to count the number of books I read this year. I then fell in love with some blogs (the first blog was The Book Reader) (Which I found in October on a google search for books to read) (she was the main rason I decided to start blogging). And decided to create my own on I think January 20 or around that time. I then thought I should keep track on there. At first it was 100 but then I saw The Book Reader again and saw hers was 120 and changed mine to that.
I never thought I could read 120 in a year but I guess I can. And next year will definetly push myself to over 200.
Question?????? : Would it be wierd to change my list to like 200 or 175 this late in the year.
And my goal like 3 months was to get 100 by July 2nd (halfway through the year) and I was so upset (not really) whenI had read 98.
I like to also know how many book I have read each month if you noticed that you see many colors on my list.

July 08, 2009

Yay 25 Followers

Well I can't have a contest. But I want to thank all my followers. I know I am not the best with frequent posts. But I love my blog and wish I had more time to do things. I also wish I had more money to host a contest.

It took me almost 7 months to get 25 followers. And I am just wondering how long it will take to get to 100.

Thanks for following me and hopefully sometime I will be able to have time to post all the things I want to.

In My Mailbox (8)

This is a little early since I am leaving Sunday and their will be no mail Saturday(Happy Fourth Of July).

Evermore by Alyson Noel

Thanks Serena Robar for your giving it away thing all June where I won this.

I have already read this but I finally got my own copy.

Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch. Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste…
Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition. He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets. Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head. She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is. Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

And last week I got some non book stuff but they go along with Twilight. I got some Essence Of Twilight things. This was a contest win so I didn't actually buy them. They are supposed to smell like the character. I got Edward, Bella, Alice, Renesme, and Jacob and Promise which is the wedding scent. They all smell good except Jacob it smells like sunscreen. I some of the thing like I got Alice in a spray and Edward in Lip Balm and Lotion (the lip balm smells bad).

Here are the websites if you want to check them out.

Happy Half Way Through The Year

Yep that's today. You might be thinking right now that this year has gone by really fast. I feel like I have so much I want to do this year and haven't really accomplished much of it yet. But I have read I think 96 or 97 books so far. And my goal at the beggining of the year was 100 but I later changed it to 120. I am pretty sure I will make it to 120. Can't think of much else to say.

Oh I just remembered Happy Birthday Kelly. I know you won't read this blog cause you don't read book but Happy Brthday. She has been one of best friends for a long time but we aren't as close since we used to go to different schools. But yeah now we are in the same school. Yeah for High School.
