The Karma Club by Jessica Brody

Madison Kasparkova always thought she understood how Karma works. It’s that mysterious, powerful force that brings harmony to the universe. You know—do good things and you will be rewarded, do something bad and Karma will make sure you get what’s coming to you. A sort of cosmic balancing act.

But when Mason Brooks, Maddy’s boyfriend of two years, gets caught tongue-wrestling with Miss Perfect Body Heather Campbell, and absolutely nothing happens to either of them—except that they wind up the hot new couple of Colonial High School, it seems like Karma has officially left Maddy in the lurch. That’s why Maddy and her best friends, Angie and Jade, decide to start the Karma Club—a secret, members-only organization whose sole purpose is to clean up the messes that the universe has been leaving behind. Whether they’re modifying Heather Campbell’s acne cream as part of “Operation Butterface,” or righting a few wrongs when it comes to Angie and Jade’s own slimy exes, they know they’re just doing what Karma should have done in the first place. They’re taking care of one another.

Sometimes, though, it isn’t wise to meddle with the universe. Because it turns out, when you mess with Karma, Karma messes back. Now Maddy must find a way to balance her life for good, even as everything around her seems to be toppling to the ground.

This book was funny, cute and totally addictive. The plot kept getting better and better I couldn't even put it down.

I loved all the characters. Madison was funny, smart, and had everything wrong happen to her but she still made it through everything. Her friend Angie and Jade were great BFF's who wanted to help Maddy with all their evil plans.

The plot was cute and really good. The book was pretty hard to put down. It was a nice light read but has meaning to it.

Overall I loved almost everything and would recommend this to anyone. Especially if you want a nice light book to read.

I am definitely looking forward to more of Jessica Brody books

The Snowball Effect by Holly Nicole Hoxter

Lainey Pike can tell you everything you need to know about the people in her family just by letting you know how they died. Her reckless stepfather drove his motorcycle off the highway and caused the biggest traffic jam in years. Her long-suffering grandmother lived through cancer and a heart attack before finally succumbing to a stroke. And Lainey's mother—well, Lainey's mother hanged herself in the basement just days after Lainey's high school graduation.

Now Lainey's five-year-old brother is an orphan and her estranged older sister is moving back home to be his guardian. Meanwhile, Lainey's boyfriend is thinking about having a family of their own, and her best friends are always asking the wrong sorts of questions and giving advice Lainey doesn't want to hear. As she tries to pull away from everything familiar, Lainey meets an intriguing new guy who, through a series of Slurpee's, burgers, and snowballs, helps her to make peace with a parent she never understood.

This book was okay. The characters didn't have much to them and Lainey to me was whiny.

The characters I think were kinda bland and had no depth and no real personality. Lainey was whiny. Vanessa and Collin(brother and sister) were okay but weird. Riley(her boyfriend) was really clingy which annoys me.

The plot was average but was pretty good to read. The ending was weird and not good enough. This took me longer to read then usual which to mean usually means the book is okay but not favorite.

Overall I did not like the characters that much. They were just okay. The plot was average and not a very good ending.

I was really looking forward to reading this book but I have to say I was disappointed.

I would still read the book. It was pretty good but the characters and plot fell flat for me. I did enjoy readingit just it did not live up to my liking.

Being Nikki by Meg Cabot

There's no escape
When everyone is watching you.

Emerson Watts was pretty sure there couldn't be anything worse than being a straight A student whose brain had been transplanted into the body of a teenage supermodel.

But it turned out she was wrong.

Because that supermodel could turn out to have a mother who's mysteriously gone missing, a brother who's shown up on her doorstep demanding answers, ex-boyfriends crawling out of the woodwork who want more than just a photo op, and a British heartthrob who's written a song about her that's topping the charts.

How can Em balance all that with school, lingerie runway shows, and weekend jaunts to St. John—especially when she's got final exams; a sister who is headed to the high school cheerleading championships; a former best friend, Christopher, who's intent on destroying Stark Enterprises to avenge the death of his lost love; and a company she represents that seems to be turning to the dark side...

But then, nobody said it was going to be easy, being Nikki.

I loved this book.

I think Meg Cabot has a really good writing style, it is very detailed and explains just what you want to know.

Em is a little whiny but other than that she is good. The guys in the book all sound mad and clingy. Christopher sounds good but Em is always complaining how they aren't together and they both are in love. Gabriel and Brandon sound mean. Gabrial sounds really clingy. Brandon just mean.

The plot is very original and very good. The plot is always growing and is really addictive to read. The ending is really good and makes you want to to read the next book.

Overall I would say is good and really addictive to read.

A Book I Can't Wait To Read

The Unwriten Rule by Elizabeth Scott

Everyone knows the unwritten rule: You don't like you best friend's boyfriend.

Sarah has had a crush on Ryan for years. He's easy to talk to, supersmart, and totally gets her. Lately it even seems like he's paying extra attention to her. Everything would be perfect except for two things: Ryan is Brianna's boyfriend, and Brianna is Sarah's best friend.

Sarah forces herself to avoid Ryan and tries to convince herself not to like him. She feels so guilty for wanting him, and the last thing she wants is to hurt her best friend. But when she's thrown together with Ryan one night, something happens. It's wonderful...and awful.

Sarah is torn apart by guilt, but what she feels is nothing short of addiction, and she can't stop herself from wanting more...
